Content media monitoring is a mature industry across all developed economies in Europe and around the world. Organised and centralised copyright licensing organisations and infrastructures necessarily support this valuable business. It must be this way as indiscriminate content reproduction would, at a minimum, result in a weakened original and creative publishing sector.
NLI is a member of the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO) and the Press Database and Licensing Network (PDLN). Within PDLN, in association with 27 other similar organisations, we are dedicated to protecting publishers’ interests, improving access to international content, and simplifying end-user licensing systems.
NLI enjoys a number of agreements with reproductive rights organisation in Europe, including:
Irish content reproduction is also facilitated across Europe as part of the NLA International Media Monitoring Organisation (IMMO) licence.
These agreements ensure that consumers of Irish content in other jurisdictions are appropriately licensed, and similarly that NLI can facilitate Irish clients of international content. If you are interested in further information on securing authorisation for non-local content reproduction, NLI will be glad to help.
